Grandpa's 94th Birthday

Kenai Lake 2016

half marathon

 My dear friend Sarah asked if I would run a half marathon with her and I agreed.  Why?  I do not know!  But I trained and did it!  It was fun in a weird way and I'm so glad it's over with… 13.1 is too far for me!

Fun to run with these 2.  Abby is a gifted runner- I can't believe she completed a 1/2 marathon at age 12.

Thank goodness I had my family to cheer me on along the way!  Thank you guys!

LOVE these THREE!

 The weather forecast said it was going to be 80 degrees so we told each of our kids they could choose one school friend to go boating!  What a fun day with Kyleigh, Max and Magdiel!

Uncle Tills for 24 hours

We got to see Uncle Tills for 24 hours this summer so we took him on a bike ride and played some basketball with him.  The visit was WAY too short but we enjoyed every minute with him.

Talkeetna

We found a new favorite place to camp… Talkeetna!  Who knew it had so much to offer!  This is our riverfront property...

 Canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing on the XYZ lakes= a BLAST!

 Noah- the fish magnet- caught a 12 inch trout!

 Kep is not smiling because he has a restless lab in his tippy canoe!  Ha- I convinced him to let us take Rosco on our adventure because I thought he could just swim alongside and take breaks on the shore.  That didn't work so well and Rosco had to join the canoe crew!  ooops!

 the X Y  ??? lakes… haha!  Parker made a Z while jumping in the air but I missed it!

 Savannah lost a tooth while canoeing!  This silly girl of mine lets her teeth get so loose that they end up falling out at the most random times!

 Savannah bought this camping chair with her own money and she was so excited to use it down by the river!

 Later in the evening, Novaks joined us and the boys had a ton of fun on the river.  Their campfire actually worked in the river!

 Then they started kayaking down the river at 11:30pm.  The fun all ended when the current took out Noah.  He fell off our little kayak and then David and Parker had to rush downstream to rescue his kayak, paddle and Croc!

After eating yummy cinnamon rolls, we went back to the XYZ lakes.  Savannah caught a 13 inch trout and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the lake with the Novaks.

 Savannah cooked up a yummy trout salad for Rosco.  She wanted him to have a balanced diet so she added veggies to his fish!

Another fun camping trip has this girl and her owl all tuckered out!
