Father's Day 2012
Father's Day~ oh how I love to celebrate all that Kep means to our li'l family! He is such an amazing dad and we are all so grateful! After church, it was Kep's wish to head up to Hatcher's and mountain bike up the Gold Mint Trail.
This was Noah's first mountain bike ride so he was thrilled with Kep's choice activity! We were all shocked at how well this li'l guy did on his bike~ he was determined to make it up every hill without walking his bike!
There they are... our 3 tough bikers posing for their fav dad! We had a great family ride and got back to our car just before the biggest thunderstorm hit! In my 10 years living here... I had never heard such powerful thunder and seen such humongous raindrops!
As soon as we got home I asked the kids to run out and pick some lettuce for our first salad! Note to self... don't pick lettuce in a rainstorm as it gets all muddy!
Parker couldn't wait for the salad~ this guy loves his greens!
And, just to make sure our Father's Day was truly memorable we invited Kep's grandparents over for KFC chicken. Then, Kep set up his new Father's Day canopy and we ate out on the deck! Did I mention those were the biggest raindrops I had ever seen??? Yup, we quickly discovered that Kep's new canopy was not waterproof and we got rather wet!!! Good times!
The women and children didn't finish our dinner out on the deck but the almost 90 year old Hal... stuck it out!
What a fun Father's Day that will never be forgotten! Love you Kep!

frog fun!
Our kids are just like any others, it's an exciting day when one of them finds a frog! This day was extra exciting as they found 2... Mario and Luigi!
Why Not Tri with Parker
Way back in the spring, I was shocked with Parker's answer to my question... "Parker, would you like to do the kids' Why Not Tri this summer?" "YES!" OK, I quickly printed out the form and had him fill it out! I was hoping all spring that he would actually follow through and he did~ what fun!
Here I am being cheered on by my 3 cuties~ they were so adorable!Once my race was over we got to go home and get all of Parker's gear and here I am getting him all prepped for his first triathlon! He was super excited to use the road bike that Kep built for him last summer!
Ha~ isn't he so cute!?!
Parker chose to complete the smaller kids' triathlon so here he is finishing up his one lap in 1 minute 52 seconds.
After the swim, here he is in his first transition getting ready for the 2 mile bike. He completed it in 5 minutes and 2 seconds.
And, this was his favorite part of the triathlon... COMPLETING (being done with) the 1 mile run in 8 minutes and 56 seconds! We know he enjoyed the whole experience but this next story still cracks us up! After the race the local newspaper man came up to me and asked if he could interview my son. No problem, I agreed but with a wink and a giggle knowing that the interview would be very short if he was talking to Parker Kroon! Yup, every answer was brief... "yes" or "no" even for the last question... "Will you do this triathlon next year?" "No." "Oh really, how come?" "I don't like the run!" haha~ too funny! Parker we appreciate your honesty!
Well DONE Parker! I'm so proud of you for completing your first triathlon!
