Bacpacking at Summit Lake
My 3 boys love to "rough it" out in God's country! It's a good thing our boys can sleep anywhere and everywhere (unlike their sis!) because they got to go backpacking up in Hatcher's to test out Kep's new tent from his 30th bday.

camping with a princess
WoW! That is our most commonly used word while camping with Savannah. She can be the best li'l camper wandering around the campsite smiling from ear to ear just entertaining herself with nature. Or, she can be a basket case for any li'l non~apparent reason!!! At home, she sleeps so sound and has been known to sleep from 7pm til 10:30am on a regular basis! WOW! But, sleeping in a camper is a completely diff story for this li'l girl. We don't quite understand what could change her sleeping patterns besides that maybe this li'l princess CAN feel the "pea" underneath the playpen mattress! Savannah we love you but "WoW"... you are a funny li'l camper!
Here's a picture to show her many years down the road... she did NOT want that life jacket on! ;)
She finally gives up and falls asleep sitting UP! This was a after 2 days of no naps, listening to her scream for a lot of the night and most of the day! Sigh!

just hanging by Kenai Lake

OMGoodness... we were so blessed with INCREDIBLE weather the day we drove down to Kenai Lake. If the water had not been 30+ degrees, if there weren't gorgeous snow~topped mountains jetting out of that water and if we weren't sitting on pebbles... I could have imagined I was somewhere tropical because the water was crystal blue and it was almost 80 degrees!!! I love, love, LOVE Alaska on days like these...Memorial Day at Kenai Lake
Tots 'n Tiaras
they hatched~
Our beautiful blue robin eggs are not the same "beautiful" anymore... and actually they are quite "yucky" looking! But, we are sure having fun watching God's amazing creation take place right on the side of our shed. These helpless little robin babes change so quickly. That third egg has now hatched and they all have more feathers than this picture shows. We only wish we could keep watching them until they fly away but we take off for Montana tomorrow... Although, I'm pretty sure I can handle that sadness knowing that I'll be with my family very SOON!!! ;)

watching & waiting
Momma Robin has been faithfully building nests on the side of our shed this spring. Kep took the first nest down because he didn't want one on HIS shed. But, I was happy Momma Robin felt welcome to come back and build a second nest in the same place! And it didn't take long to convince Kep to keep it up there since it could be a "science" lesson for our boys! hehehe. The nest is way too high for the boys to see inside so we just keep taking pix to show them the progress. Here are the 3 beautiful eggs we are watching... she laid 2 earlier in the week and then we saw a 3rd today! We'll post more pix later of our baby Robins...
