the brothers chose to be baptized!!!
This past weekend was one we have prayed for and it was so exciting to see our boys making this choice. Each one of our children fully understands why God asks us to be baptized but each one of them have been intimidated by the fact that so many people would be watching them. So, we assured them that they can let us know when they are ready. Recently the boys BOTH decided they were ready and they also chose to have Kep dunk them! What a sweet and emotional day! I praise God for their obedience and I pray that this day will always be a special memory for our boys.
Parker is a RUNNER
Parker surprised us all this Fall when he asked if he could participate in Shaw's Cross Country program. He has always told us that he does NOT like to RUN. But all his buddies were going to do XC so that always makes anything more enticing, right!?! We were even more surprised when he finished 1st in his first meet AND beat all the 3rd-5th graders at Larson and Shaw. Well run, son! We are proud of the way you handled yourself after the meet- very gracious winner!
fun visit with Bapak
We recently had a great visit with my dad. He flew up here for a week to help take care of my grandpa. We are all thankful we got to spend a week with him. Savannah, Noah and I took him up to our favorite hike in Hatchers and it did not disappoint~ we all had fun tromping through the tundra with Bap!
Gelatts to Ghana
Janelle. I am so thankful for this friend. I remember arriving in Alaska over 12 years ago and longing for a girlfriend. A year later, I had no idea I would be so fortunate as to meet… Janelle. The last 11 years have been full of shopping trips to Anchorage, coffee dates, crazy family pizza nights, and 7 "Mooseachino" drop-offs to the Midwifery!
I love this friend dearly. I am inspired by her daily. I am so proud of their obedience to follow God's call and take their precious, LARGE family to Ghana. They left AK 3 weeks ago and I miss Janelle tremendously. I am hoping she keeps up on the new blog I created for their family's journey at Gelatts to Ghana.

Savannah and Lulu
Savannah is so excited that she finished her first long chapter book! I was trying to find some innocent chapter books for her to read and this Lulu set seems to have been the perfect fit for our little girl. She loves that they are all about animals!

"to be" hunters
Last week, we checked out the Talkeetna shooting range so Kep could site in his new scope. This will be his first Fall to go on a true hunt so he's trying to get his limited hunting gear… ready! The boys had fun shooting their 22 and Chipmunk too.
Afterwards, we took a ride out of Talkeetna and enjoyed the amazing view of Mt. McKinley. We finished our fun day with the best sweet potato fries EVER!

Anchorage to Seward bike relay
2 years ago~ we started a new tradition with these good biking friends. Kep is the only one that stays in shape throughout the year and the rest of us use the Seward bike relay to get in shape! So, we call our 6-pal group "Well Rested". Surprisingly enough, it was sunny and we improved our time by one hour and 12 minutes! A new PR! We all decided we must bike better in the sun!
What a fun time together! The funniest part is the 6 of us spend the night in our camper! Good times!
Parker's turns 10!
Our oldest is now double digits and we can hardly believe it! He had a fun birthday party at home since it was raining in Hatchers where he wanted to take his buddies biking! They spent the party playing indoor games and riding their bikes on our little single track when it stopped raining!

FULL Gold Cord Lake hike
It was a sunny day at the house so as soon as we got done with all our homeschool work, we headed up to our favorite hiking spot to let Rosco run. I've always wondered what it would be like to hike around our little lake so we decided to give it a try. Rosco loved seeing all the snow on the opposite side of the lake. And we all loved getting back to the original side of the lake as the boulder field took forever to cross and I was getting nervous that I made a mistake taking my crew on a new adventure. At one point, I had to pull Rosco out from in between two big boulders as he was whining. Next time, I'll let my adventuresome spirit kick in when Kep is with. Thankful my little ones came through~ aren't they so cute!?!
